This course gets you out on the water and is for pleasure or non-pleasure boaters

Students spend 1 evening in the class prior to 2 days on the local Vancouver waters aboard our 19 foot power boats. Course manuals are provided at registration and must be completed before you start your on-water instruction.

QuickNAV provides a serious, fun atmosphere where the combination of the classroom and hands-on approach will provide students with basic boating safety, terminology, systems, knot tying & hitches, as well as rules of the road knowledge.

This certification is generally recognized as the minimum requirement to charter a vessel for day cruising during daylight hours in local waters. Topics covered are: handling a powerboat while underway, docking, anchoring, person overboard and retrieval drills, weather, collision regulations, charting, basic navigation as well as the Canadian Aids to Navigation System. Make the most of your course time with the two days on the water putting your skills to practice.

This course will provide you with a QuickNAV or nternational Power And Sail (ISPA) Power Certification. Each of these certifications can be taken together or separate to suit your time frame. If you do not require any certification from these organisations, QuickNAV will provide you with a log book showing the training which you have completed to complement your Boating Certification.

Upon writing the online PCOC test you will also receive your Temporary Transport Canada Approved Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) Boating Card.
