Power Boat Lessons on Our Boat or Yours
Power Boating Course Overview?
This course is for pleasure or non-pleasure boaters who are ready to get out on the water safely and confidently!
Students spend 1 evening in the class prior to 2 days per certification on the local Vancouver waters aboard our 19 foot power boats..
QuickNav Marine provides professional training with a fun approach to learning. The combination of classroom learning with a hands-on approach will provide students with basic boating safety, terminology, systems, knot tying & hitches, as well as rules of the navigation.
This certification along with Coastal Navigation and VHF radio is generally recognized as the minimum requirement to charter a vessel for day cruising during daylight hours in local waters.
Topics covered are: handling a powerboat while underway, docking, anchoring, person overboard and retrieval drills, weather, collision regulations, charting, basic navigation as well as the Canadian Aids to Navigation System. Make the most of your course time with the two days on the water putting your skills to practice.
This course will provide you with a QuickNAV or International Power And Sail (ISPA) Power Certification. Each of these certifications can be taken together or separate to suit your time frame. If you do not require any certification from these organizations, QuickNAV will provide you with a log book showing the training which you have completed to complement your Boating Certification.
Upon writing the online Pleasure Craft Operators test you will receive a temporary Transport Canada Approved (PCOC) Boating Card.
